Privacy Policy

Protecting your personal data matters to us. Below we explain, in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), which data we collect on this website and how we handle it. The legally binding version is the German privacy policy; this English text is provided for convenience.

Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is:
Tim Neunzig

What this page is about

GhostRoom is under development. The sole purpose of this website is to let interested people sign up, without obligation, for early access to the upcoming app. We only collect the data needed to add you to this waitlist and to invite the first users later on. We do not sell, rent, or use your data for advertising.

Signing up for early access

When you sign up through the form, we process the data you provide:

– your email address (required)
– your optional notes on what you would use GhostRoom for
– an optional profile link
– the date and time of your sign-up and your IP address, which are recorded and stored for technical reasons when you submit the form

Purpose and legal basis

We process your email address and the optional details (use cases and profile link) to handle your sign-up, inform you about the availability of the app, invite you to the early-access programme, and send you a confirmation of receipt. The legal basis for this is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give by submitting the form.

Your IP address and the timestamp are stored to document the consent you gave, to ensure the technical operation of the service, and to prevent abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Withdrawing your consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. A short message to info@ghostroom.video is enough. The lawfulness of any processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.

Retention period

We store your data only for as long as necessary for the stated purpose – at the latest until the app launches and the first users are invited, or until you withdraw your consent. After that the data is deleted, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Hosting and processors

This website is hosted on self-operated server infrastructure. To send notification and confirmation emails we use the email/SMTP service of hosting.de GmbH (mail.hosting.de), with whom we have a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR. Processing takes place within the European Union. We do not pass your data on to any other third parties for purposes other than those stated.

Server log files

When you access this website, the server infrastructure automatically collects information that your browser transmits (so-called server log files): IP address, date and time of access, the file requested, and browser type and operating system. This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and ensure stable, secure operation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The log data is deleted automatically after a short time.

No cookies, no tracking

This website uses no cookies and no analytics, tracking, or advertising services. No external third-party resources are loaded; accordingly, no access to information on your device within the meaning of Section 25 TDDDG takes place.

SSL/TLS encryption

For security reasons this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the browser address bar switching from “http://” to “https://”. This prevents the data you transmit to us from being read by third parties.

No automated decision-making

We do not carry out automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR. We decide on admission to the early-access programme manually.

Your rights

You have the right at any time to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR). To exercise your rights, a message to info@ghostroom.video is enough.

Right to lodge a complaint

Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and the Right to Access Information of Brandenburg (LDA Brandenburg), Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.

Liability and updates

This privacy policy relates solely to this website and the early-access sign-up. Where links to external third-party websites are accessible through this site, we have no influence over their content or data processing and accept no liability for them; the provider of the linked page is responsible in each case. We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as the functionality changes or the app launches.
